Its grand to see the effort expended by so many people to preserve such a signficant part of your countrys heritage and to acknowledge the sacrifices made by Canadian and all dominion airmen in Britains hour of need.
LEST WE FORGET.

Hi, many thanks for being able to view your Lanc website. Very nice. Happy to see so much involvement from the community. The only airworthy Lanc left flying in Canada visited here in Edmonton this past summer. Thousands from far & wide viewed & toured it over 3 days as it was in Alta for the Cold Lake Airshow. I had the pleasure of watching this beatiful bird take off & land about 4 times. Oh what a feeling!!! I may come & see your Lanc next summer when I come to N.B. for a holiday. (I spent 10 years in N.B. growing up & love it there) Bye for now. P.S. I had an uncle who was a tail gunner on a British Lanc.
Best regards
Keith Daniel

Great site. One of my relatives (who I've never met, unfortunately) was Flight-Lieutenant Allan "Red" Ross. I just read a biography of his, and found this website after searching for the KB882 that he flew in 428 Ghost Squadron during the war.

Never flew in KB882 but did got to Ireland for 6 weeks of asntisubmarine school in KB883 plus flew in about 20 or so other Lancs in OTU and with 407 Sqn in Coimox BC . First Lanc flight in late 1954 and last in early 1959 . Loved the Lanc from day one . Had about 1750 Lanc hours total .!!
Noel FungeGreat work! I was a member of the crew that flew KB 882 from Fairey Aviation, Dartmouth NS, to Rockcliffe in February 1957 after its conversion to an Arctic Reconnaissance (AR) Lanc for surveilance and patrol duties with 408 (R) Squadron. I flew a number of AR missions on 882. My wifw being a Caper, we pass 882 on the highway quite often - I never fail to stop and take yet another photo!

This is a nice website that does a good job of representing Lancaster 882 on the web. I hope that she can be preserved for generations to come.
Good work to everyone invloved with this jewel.
Cheers,

Keep up the good work!
Must say, though, I was not keen on flying Lancs (405 Sqdn, 1953-1955) and converting to Neptunes was a major leap forward. Having said that, there is nothing I know of to compare to forwarding 4 throttles with 5000 horsepower strapped to your butt!
Peter WhitfieldTroy, the new website looks fantastic! Look forward to updates on the restoration of this one of only 2 combat veteran Lancasters built in Canada!

So glad the work goes on. This is an important part of aviation history.
